AWPT PRE & POST NATAL COURSE
A Woman’s body goes through many different stages in her lifetime...
Perhaps though, none as drastic as during Pregnancy & in the postpartum years. It is therefore crucial that Coaches are educated on the safety considerations when training these Women.
Historically, pregnancy has been seen as a state of disease and Women were strongly discouraged to exercise. Over the years, the considerations for Women who are pregnant have been updated, however we still have a way to go as many outdated practices are still being implemented.
It takes approximately 17 years for research to become common knowledge and this course aims to bridge that gap!
We now know that it is both safe AND beneficial for most Women with healthy pregnancies (and some with relative contraindications) to exercise. However, you MUST know what considerations and modifications to make to ensure the best outcome for your client and their baby.
Another important statistic to know is that approximately 80% of Women will have a baby in their lifetime!
This means that every Woman who has had a baby will remain postpartum for the rest of her life. If you are training a Mum, whether she be 12 weeks, 12 months or 12 years postpartum, it is important to know what some Women may experience and how to train most safely and effectively.

Kayla is the founder and creator of AWPT, a company that provides the best education in the industry for coaches and personal trainers who work with female clients.
Kayla holds a Bachelor in Applied Science (Exercise & Sport Science) and Masters of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney from which she graduated in 2015. She also obtained her Certificate III & IV in Fitness during her studies at University, as well as many other certificates in the areas of Women's Health, Nutrition, Strength Training & Programming, Functional Anatomy and Biomechanics. Kayla has been working in the health and fitness industry for over 10 years!
Kayla has grown up playing a multitude of Sports and has participated in many of them at a competitive level.
Her passion lies in making an impact in the fitness industry to better educate coaches and provide them with the resources that she feels are missing when it comes to Women's Health.
